Six (6) Common Health Threats In A Woman That All Should Know

If you must have noticed, major health issues mostly impact women more intensely than men.

Most women in developing nations have been diagnosed with clinical depression and women from developing nations are severely affected by malnutrition.

We would like to share the following health issues that every woman should know:

Cervical cancer

Statistics say around 260,000 women die every year from cervical cancer and 85 percent of those deaths occur in developing countries.

The major cause of this cancer is human papillomavirus the most commonly contracted STD.

Now there is a vaccine for this cancer but not many women are aware of this disease.

Heart disease

According to the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention heart disease is the reason behind 29 percent of deaths in women.

What puts you at risk as a woman? Stress, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity and if all this is left untreated, the disease can lead to heart attack and even stroke.

Breast cancer

Breast cancer is almost like a lifestyle disease these days and is a serious issue that affects every woman.

Recent research shows that while doctors are getting better at treating the disease, occurrence rates are on the rise.

It is largely because of our lifestyle these days. Today, women are getting married later, having children late, more stressed out, and generally more inactive than their mothers were.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

According to the statistics, 10 percent of women of reproductive age suffer from this condition.

This syndrome causes small cysts to form on the ovaries during ovulation.

These cysts hurt like hell and cause side pains. These cysts can even get infected and rupture, perhaps damaging a woman's uterus and, thereby, her fertility.

Women with PCOS are also more prone to weight gain, abnormal periods, acne, and excess hair growth.

It can affect men as well but it is a huge threat to the health of females.

Largely preventable, it affects the strength and resiliency of the bones, which can lead to fractures and bone breaks later on in life.

The major cause for this is eating a diet that's low in calcium or vitamin D, smoking, and extreme alcohol use.

This disease hits more women than man largely because of hormonal changes.

Postpartum depression that develops post-pregnancy is very common but not much talked about is a major factor behind depression.

Lifestyle also plays a major role like feeling disconnected from family and friends, a family history or even childhood abuse or neglect can also be the major factors....
